Managing assets in the asset library

View details of CAPE assets, and import/export asset metadata

The CAPE GUI asset library contains several default CAPE asset types, such as capedWETH. However, creating new asset types does not automatically add them to a centralized asset library. Other users who wish to interact with a new asset type will need to import the asset metadata, just as ERC-20 tokens must be imported into MetaMask. See Managing assets in the asset library for more details.

The asset library can be used to see information for specific asset types, and allows you to import them to your wallet for transacting.

For example, in the screenshot above we have selected the ‘CapeUSDC’ token from the column on the left. On the right hand side the first thing we see is the ERC-20 contract address. This can be used to confirm which ERC-20 token was used to create the wrapped asset type for CAPE.

Below that you can see what type of policies are attached to the asset type. The ‘CapeUSDC’ asset type allows the viewing key owner to see transaction amounts and sender and recipient addresses. There is also a freezing policy enabled, which allows the freezing key holder to freeze asset balances of this type.

Finally, there is the option to import and export asset metadata. Clicking on the ‘Export Asset Metadata’ button will allow you to copy the metadata to share with others who wish to use the asset type. The ‘Import Asset’ button opens a window where you can paste the asset metadata to import an asset into your asset library.
